Virtual Manipulatives -List of useful virtual manipulatives that help students visualize and solve math problems. Sheppard Software - Huge variety of fun math games for kids to practice. Estimation - A fun, simple estimation game. From the "New Sims PhET simulations website. Greg Tang Math - Great website for strategy based math games and resources. Zearn - An extensive math practice program. Free, but requires a login provided by a teacher. Walker Title 1 Math - The Walker Elementary Title 1 math website. Lots of excellent math games at a variety of levels, created by our very own Dylana Garfas-Knowles. Check it out! Reading National Geographic: Reach for Reading Online Access - The website for our new reading curriculum. Students will be able to rewatch and reread content from class, as well as play educational games that connect with content. You will receive a student login early in the year that will allow you to login to the student side of this website. Aesop's Fables Online - Collection of Aesop's Fables, some with audio narration and pictures. Spelling City - Several spelling games that can be modified with spelling lists that you choose. Super Summary Reading Resources - Some reading comprehension and vocabulary resources. Solar System Scope - A 3D, interactive model of the solar system. Press space bar after loading the page to enter full screen mode and hide advertisements. The Scale of the Universe - A size accurate interactive model of the universe. If something is interesting, or new to you, click on it, and a brief explanation will appear. PhET simulations - A website with many interesting games and simulations relating to science and math. Created and maintained by University of Colorado at Boulder. Thomas Doty, Local Storyteller - The website of a local storyteller. Miscellaneous Marvel Comic Strip Creator - This is a fun website where kids can use Marvel's website to create comic strips using Marvel characters. |
