Welcome!
My name is Tyler Claycomb, and I have been given the great honor to teach 3rd grade at Walker Elementary School. I am a curious, enthusiastic, and empathetic person that truly enjoys teaching and learning with young people. I have a background in science and mathematics, and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from University of Oregon. I also attended University of Oregon for Master’s degree in Elementary Education. My greatest goal as a teacher is to inspire a curiosity about the world and a love of learning in all of my students. I hope that I help my students learn to approach life (both inside and outside of school) as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, playing and watching team sports (especially baseball), and spending time with my wife Julie. I look forward to meeting you and your students, and to creating a classroom community where students, parents, and I will all grow and learn together. The picture above shows Julie and me at Crater Lake National Park.

Our Family
Julie and I, and our dog Pita. Pita is a Yorkie-Maltese mix, with another breed we don't know. She loves to pose for pictures, steal food and to bark at just about anything.

Our very friendly cat Loki. He is named after the Norse god of Mischief. He is 5 years old, and was adopted from the pound in Eugene.
